For this shoot I planned a really fresh, glowing look, using pearly tones and minimal powder. I used lots of liquid highlighter, as I think that on older skin creams and powders can look too heavy and cakey, and applied a brightening day cream underneath the makeup as a base instead of using primer, and I also mixed a facial oil into the foundation before application, to add extra glow and thin out the foundation. To achieve a natural tanned look I also used liquid bronzer and a peach toned blush to add to the healthy vibe. I wanted this look to be really natural, and focused on enhancing the features, not masking them, which is why I didn't opt for false lashes, and applied a tinted lip balm instead of a lipstick or stain, and I think the photos came out really nicely.

Age 30 - 40 makeup photoshoot
I love this makeup look and I think it suits this age group perfectly. The model's red hair makes the makeup pop and looks really striking in the photos. The model also has lots of freckles which I loved so I tried to make sure that they still showed through. I used a lighter coverage of concealer around the eyes as in your thirties you start to develop fine lines and so I didn't want product settling into them. I think the eyes looks really nice and soft compared to a sharp wing done with eyeliner, which is exactly what I was aiming for.
Age 70 - 80 makeup photoshoot
I really loved this shoot and I think the photos came out really well. I kept the makeup minimal and I didn't use any powder, and I went for a very shimmery eye but contained and not blown out. I tried to keep the amount of products used to a minimum, and be gentle on the skin. I used a lightweight foundation and I mixed in an illuminating primer to use less foundation on the skin. I did apply concealer under the eyes but I mixed in some Benefit eye cream to keep it light. The model was really pleased and that came across in the photos which was really what I wanted, and they look really light and fresh as well.

Age 20 - 30 makeup look photoshoot
For this shoot I used my sister Katie, 23, as my model, and I think it looked really nice on her as she has quite a warm skin tone which suited the warm toned makeup perfectly. I absolutely loved the glitter on the eye as I think it made the look so glamorous. I didn't powder the skin for this look because I wanted to keep the skin quite fresh looking and didn't want to layer up any more product than was necessary. I also styled her hair into a sleek pony as I think it really adds to the chic feel of the look.
Teen makeup look photoshoot
I think this shoot went well and I really like the photos and how the look turned out. Before applying the makeup I used two primers; one pore-filling and one mattifying. I then used a mix of two medium/full overage foundations, a full coverage concealer for both concealing and highlighting, and a deep cream contour. To create the glossy lids I used Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream over matte black shadow. I kept the black really pigmented and packed on the lid, then blended out the edges using warm brown shades. I kept the pink lips glossy to match the lids and keep the look young. I wanted the photos to be fun and not too serious so I made sure I got lots of shots of her laughing and feeling relaxed!

Age 50 - 60 makeup look planning - fresh and glowing

For the 50s look I've gone for something quite natural and glowy, with no false lashes, heavy contour, or strong lip colour. I've focused on a pale shimmery eye look, pearly with gold tones, but I didn't want to go for any obvious eyeliner so instead I will tight-line the upper and lower lash lines and apply a decent coat of mascara. For the face I will first apply an illuminating primer, then a lightweight foundation, following by sparing use of powder, and a highlighter on the cheekbones and brow bones. I will also lightly bronze the face and apply a liquid cheek tint and powder blush to create a really healthy colour. I have drawn freckles onto the face charts just to show that I won't be masking the skin and I want it to be really fresh looking.

Teenage makeup look planning - glossy black smokey eye

For this age I've gone for a really dramatic and over-the-top blown out smokey eye. I start out with some warm browns through the crease and blended out, before building up matte black shadow on the lid, blending between each application. The lower lash line will also be smoked out and dramatic, maybe spiky, lashes applied. Then I think I'll add gloss to the lids to make it really young and modern. The brows will be really defined and there will be soft contouring. I have chosen to pair this look with a pale pink lip but am undecided on whether it should be matte or glossy to contrast or match the eyes. I think the pale lip with keep the look fresh and youthful, while the grungy eye is classic of the teenager, and both should hopefully come off really well in the photos.
Age 20 - 30 makeup look planning - Cranberry cut-crease

I wanted to create something fun but stylish for the 20s, so I went for a cranberry and gold cut-crease, using warm matte shades for the crease and above, and metallic shadows on the lid. I paired this eye look with a brown/nude lip using MAC's 'Velvet Teddy', though it comes across red in the photos. I will also use false eyelashes to amplify the dramatic eyes but nothing spiky or thick as I want to keep the lashes soft as not to detract from the eye makeup. I will go for a coral blush as a pink would clash with the reddish/warm tone of the look. I will also use contouring and bronzing to add warmth into the face. I think this look is young as it incorporates colour and glitter, but is also kept sophisticated with the chic cut crease and matte nude lip.

ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Belle, I'm 19 years old and I am an aspiring make up artist, currently doing my Final Major Project for my Art Foundation course! I have chosen for my project to be on the theme "makeup for all ages" so I will be doing photoshoots of my looks on models of varying ages, which should make for some really exciting pictures. This blog is where I will upload my work and the preparation I do for it!
